Olio Pizzeria’s® casual concept pizza bar/wine bar/full bar was inspired by the myriad neighborhood pizzerie and enoteche (wine bars) found around the corner from just about every piazza in Italy. This idea began to take shape before we even opened Olio e Limone Ristorante, our fine dining restaurant next door, in 1999. Olio Pizzeria® is a casual place set in Santa Barbara, CA with an emphasis on simple, delicious everyday artisanal Italian food served in a convivial casual environment, drawing inspiration from all of Italy’s regions.
Wine bars serving boutique salumi and formaggi are all the rage in Italy as is a new regionalism which we are excited to share with you. Sicily is an emerging powerhouse, and we have always shared touches of Sicilian food and wine with our guests. OLIO PIZZERIA | SANTA BARBARA
Pizza Regina Margherita, whose red tomatoes, green basil, and white cheese represent the Italian flag, was named for Queen Margherita of Savoy in 1889, according to co-owner Elaine Andersen Morello. Executive chef Alberto Morello’s version comes with mozzarella, prosciutto di Parma, cherry tomatoes, extra-virgin olive oil, basil, and shaved Parmesan. “We’ve played a role in helping the Teddy Bear Cancer Foundation from the beginning,” says Andersen Morello, “and we want to continue to give this wonderful organization an extra boost!”
For every order of this dish sold through December 31, 2019, Olio Pizzeria will donate $2 to Teddy Bear Cancer Foundation.
